I’m honoured that clients describe my "sound" as a bridge between old-school edgy British engineering and lush American production values. Along with my commitment to helping artists make the best-sounding music in the most enjoyable way, I bring my experience as an award-winning engineer and music producer to musicians across multiple genres who walk out of my sessions feeling like they achieved something greater than they imagined. I’m completing work on my studio in my second home of Belgium and will continue to be available to work with you in the UK, to travel to your studio or to join you on the road. Let’s talk.
Portfolio:
Recording: I’ve had the honour to put up microphones in front of and record a wide variety of artists, from classical to jazz, rock to pop and electronic, as well as tracks for TV, film, theatre and advertising. A short list would include: Hayley Westenra, Jamie Callum, Alexandra Burke, Biffy Clyro, Des’ree, Gabrielle Aplin, Jack Savoretti, Ellie Goulding, James Arthur, Jess Glynne, Plan B, Carly Simon, Dirty Pretty Things, KT Tunstall, Suzie Quattro, Marti Pellow, Tiggs da Author, Deborah Bonham, Mika, Niall Horan, Melanie C, UB40 and Taylor Swift. I’ve recorded a song for a trailer for the Great British Bake Off, a piece for the National Theatre, even Helen Bonham Carter singing “Red Hot Mamma” for her role as Princess Margaret in “The Crown”.
Live recordings: The Kooks, the Buzzcocks, Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam, as well as distinguished classical musicians like Alfred Brendel and Nigel Kennedy.
Mastering: I am an accomplished mastering engineer, having mastered around 300 albums for artists ranging from Sex Pistol Glen Matlock to folk heroes Fairport Convention as well as Andrew Roachford, Deacon Blue, Neil Harland, New Model Army, Scala & Kolacny Brothers and Stiff Little Fingers.
Front-of-house/touring engineer: at over 300 venues and festivals across Europe. I’ve handled FOH sound for an eclectic array of artists, including Sting, Paul Rodgers, Chaka Khan, and Robert Plant.
Thought leader/Contributor: I am a member of the Grammy P&E Wing Advisory Board and the MPG. I have been a presenter at AES, NAMM, and IMSTA, and regularly contribute as a reviewer for industry publications.
Current projects: Now dividing my time between London and Belgium, I continue to record in London, Europe, and internationally while my wife and I are building The Wheelhouse, a studio that will soon be available in the heart of Europe to local and traveling artists.
